Armed Attack by 50-Member Kharde Patil Group at Mahalunge Site


Pune: Real estate developer Teerth Realties has approached the Bavdhan Police Station with a complaint that Arun Kharde Patil around 50 goons forcibly entered its project site at Mahalunge on Mumbai highway, vandalised property, assaulted security personnel, robbed money and attempted to illegally fence & occupy the land. The company has sought immediate registration of an FIR and police protection for the property.


According to the company, the incident took place on July 27 at its land bearing Survey No. U/10 and adjoining Balewadi Sports Complex. In its complaint, Teerth Realties has alleged with photos that the Kharde Patil group, armed with iron rods and other weapons, unlawfully entered the premises, damaged CCTV cameras and surveillance equipment, demolished company infrastructure using a JCB excavator, vandalised the site office and assaulted a security guard who attempted to stop them. The company has also alleged that Rs 25,000 in cash was removed from the office during the robbery and dacoit. The Pune court has taken prompt action and taken cognisance of this crime.


The complaint names Arun Venunath Kharade Patil and Prasad Arun Kharade Patil among those allegedly involved in the incident, while also referring to around 50 unidentified goons wearing masks. The developer has alleged that the accused attempted to illegally dispossess the company of its land through force and intimidation.


Teerth Realties has requested the police to register an FIR against the culprits, seize the vehicles allegedly used during the incident, preserve electronic and physical evidence, record witness statements, recover the allegedly stolen cash and provide police protection to the property and its employees.


In a statement issued on Thursday, the company said it had faith in the Police and is committed to lawful development and will fully cooperate with the investigation. It also appealed to all parties to allow the legal process to take its course while urging authorities to ensure public safety and protection of private property.
